Tony Schmidt is an Operating Partner and the Chief Operating Officer at Blockchain Capital. He joined the firm in August of 2021. Tony’s primary focus is optimizing firmwide operations, setting organizational priorities and developing the strategic roadmap, managing talent, and optimizing the technology stack.

Prior to joining Blockchain Capital, Tony was a Controller of Finance and Operations at Spectrum Equity. He managed the financial operations in addition to spearheading technology and system implementations across the firm. Prior to Spectrum, he consulted at KKR and worked at JPMorgan in New York and Bain & Company in Boston. During this time, he assisted with operating model assessments, software selection and implementation, business process automation, and reporting design and development.

Tony earned his B.S. in Accounting & Business Administration from NKU and continued his musical studies at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. In his spare time, Tony is an accomplished classical pianist and performs solo as well as with his “dad band”.
